Mr Gray combines the best professional qualities - communication skills, informality, attention to detail, enthusiasm, conscientiousness and surgical expertise - with a very clear commitment to supporting his patients through their treatment, One small example might be his taking the trouble to personally debrief a Day Surgery patient on the result of a procedure and the way forward rather than simply relying on the Discharge letter to provide the information. He is - and I mean this in the nicest sense - "old school" in terms of manners and general approach, who always gives the impression that he has unlimited time to discuss your problems. I am enormously impressed by him and very grateful to be in his talented care.
I have been under Mr Rob Gray's care for the past few months at Wycombe and have just had a TURBT procedure, which seems to have been extremely successful. Throughout this period of investigation, diagnosis, care and surgery, Mr Gray has shown a sympathetic interest in every aspect of my treatment (which had to be delayed until completion of heart surgery at Harefield hospital) including encouraging Harefield to expedite their operation. His support included a phone call to me at home over a Bank holiday weekend, to keep me up with progress, which I found extremely conscientious and reassuring. I have complete confidence in Mr Gray and recommend him without reservation; it was interesting to hear the comments of supporting staff at Wycombe, too, who clearly hold him in high regard.
